Palakkad: The Shiva Temple in Chuduvalathur will witness a joint Kathakali performance of three generations of a family on Sunday evening. ‘Subhadraharanam’ Kathakali will be staged by father, daughter and grandson of a family.
Kathakali maestro septuagenarian Kottakkal Nandakumaran Nair will be performing as Balabhadran in the story whereas his younger daughter Athira Nandan will play the role of Krishna. Athira is working as English lecturer in Manjeri NSS College.
In the same story, Nandakumaran Nair’s grandson Anirudh will appear as Krishna in a scene of Krishna and Indra. A class 4 student, Anirudh is son of Anitha Nandan, elder daughter of Nandakumaran Nair and teacher at Vadanamkurissi Government Higher Secondary School, and Sunil, civil police officer at Shoranur DYSP Office.
The role of Indra will be played by Sayanth while Harimohan and Jyothish will act as Brahmins. Puralippuram Lakshmanan, Sreerag Varma, Kalamandalam Vijayakrishnan, Krishnapraeen, Kalamandalam Prasanth and Sudheesh will accompany the performance with vocal and instruments.
