‘Uncle please take this’, little girl hands over earrings to CM for flood relief
Kochi: A fourth standard student has donated her savings in piggy bank and earrings to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. The girl named Liyana Thejus has surprised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with the donation when he arrived to inaugurate MM Lawrance’s 90th birthday celebrations at Ernakulam town hall.
When the Chief Minister was leaving the hall after the inauguration, little Liyana ran towards him and handed over the money to him.
“Uncle please take this too,” saying these words she removed her earrings and gave it to him.
Relatives of Liyana’s mother had gifted the earrings to her. The little girl is a role model for all who hesitate to make donations to CMDRF. Liyana had made her contribution to CMDRF during last floods also. She arrived for the function to directly hand over the money to Chief Minister as she missed the opportunity last time.
Liyana is a student at St. Francis High School in Aluva. She is the daughter of film production controller Thankachan and nurse Sini Mol.
