Nadapuram: A youth was kidnapped by a gang here in the wee hours of Friday. This is the second such incident reported from the region within a week.
The incident took place at Aroor Elayidam in Purameri Panchayat at around 12.30 am on Friday. A group of people who came in an Innova car kidnapped Perambra Panthirikkara native Ajnas (30). The vehicle did not have a number plate.
Ajnas had come to Aroor Elayidam to watch a volleyball match with his friends. The gang attacked Ajnas’s friends and kidnapped him when they were returning after the match. The Nadapuram police have registered a case and are investigating.
On February 13, a gang had kidnapped MTK Ahammad, an NRI businessman from Mudavantheri. Two days later, Ahammad was abandoned near Ramanattukara and the culprits escaped. The police are yet to make any arrests. It is in this situation that the latest incident has happened.
