Woman hit on head in Perumbavoor, found dead in front of shop; Assam native nabbed
Kochi: A woman was found to have been murdered after being hit on head at Perumbavoor here. The body was found in front of a shop in the city. Police took into custody a migrant labourer identified as Umar Ali from Assam in connection with the incident.
The woman’s body was found in front of a shop near Perumbavoor Higher Secondary School on Wednesday morning. First, the police suspected the victim to be a gypsy woman. Later, it was found that the woman is a native of Kuruppampadi. The migrant labourer was caught after checking the CCTV visuals collected from the premises.
As per primary assumption, the woman died after being hit with a spade. Several injuries were found on the body suspected to have been caused from the attack with the spade. Police informed that further action in the case is progressing.
