Woman arrested for immoral traffic in Shoranur tests COVID +ve; all 10 accused quarantined
Shoranur (Palakkad): An Assam native woman who was arrested from a lodge here for immoral traffic activities was confirmed with COVID-19. The 35-year-old woman who was arrested from Megha lodge in Kulappully here on Thursday night, was diagnosed with the disease. The lodge was raided after the district police chief received a tip-off.
The police had arrested four women including two Assam natives, four men, lodge owner and manager in connection with the incident. All 10 of them were remanded and are under quarantine presently. The women are remanded in Kannur prison and men in Alathur prison, the police informed.
The police stated that the accused will be shifted to hospital as she is confirmed with the disease. The lodge, which was turned into a quarantine centre, was used for the immoral traffic activities. As the woman was confirmed with the disease, the lodge will be sanitized, the police said.
