Wanted murder suspect gives the slip after sighting at house-warming ceremony
Kozhikode: The suspect in the murder of Youth League worker Kaliparambath Aslam escaped from police again. Valayam native Sumohan absconded after attending the house warming ceremony of his new house built in Muthukutti. The police had issued a lookout notice against Aslam.
Sumohan was at his home from 11.30 in the morning. A police team led by Nadapuram Circle Inspector M. B. Rajesh had reached his house on Thursday night in search of Sumohan, who was abroad. But they returned as they could not find him. Sumohan is said to have reached India from abroad through Nepal border, because he was likely to get arrested from the airports in the country due to the lookout notice.
Police have intensified the search for Sumohan, on the grounds of the secret information that he is still in Kerala, Vadakara Rural SP M. K. Pushkaran told Mathrubhumi. Muthangachalil Pramod, who is involved in the same case, also was with Sumohan. Vadakara police had earlier issued lookout notice against both of them. They are allegedly involved in the conspiracy related to Aslam murder case. Aslam was attacked and murdered in Nadapuram in 2016.
