Uthra's gold was buried with knowledge of Suraj's mother, says his father
Kollam: In connection with Uthra murder case, key accused and victim's husband Suraj told the police that it was a viper that was first spotted in his house. He revealed this during the interrogation which continued in the late hours.
The police assume that Suraj's mother Renuka also is involved in hiding Uthra's gold. Suraj's father Surendran had stated that the gold was buried in their compound with the knowledge of Renuka. He also alleged that both Renuka and Suraj's sister are responsible for the issues.
Based on this revelation, Renuka and daughter will be interrogated on Tuesday. However, the police have decided not to question them at their house. The truth behind Surendran's revelation can be confirmed only after interrogating them. The investigation progressed based on scientific evidences so far. However, the case took a different turn after the gold was found buried in the house compound.
As the murder was committed for obtaining the gold, the case will be stronger. If it was not found, the case would have failed easily, the police officials said. Earlier, Surendran gave confusing statements to the police. He also did not give correct response to many questions.
Even when Suraj asked Surendran to give the hidden gold, he told the police that he did not know anything and the gold was not in his possession. Finally, he revealed that the gold was buried in the compound. Later, he also hinted that Suraj's mother was aware of hiding the gold.
