Uthra murder: Police traps Suraj by tracing messages sent from sister's phone
Adoor: The police managed to arrest Suraj, the key accused in the murder of his wife Uthra, within hours after his involvement in the crime was confirmed. The shadow police came in search of Suraj at Parakkode area on Saturday by 2.30 in the afternoon. Police reached there after arresting snake catcher Suresh and went to Suraj's house by 4.30 pm.
Suraj's family told the police that he had gone to visit the lawyer at that time. The police convinced them that they came on the basis of a complaint filed by Suraj against Uthra's family.
Meanwhile, Suraj came near the house in car and noticed the police vehicle on road. As he grew suspicious about the situation, he went to a friend's house and also switched his phone off.
This friend took Suraj on his bike to the house of his sister's friend at Adoor. As his phone was switched off for long, the police realised that he is absconding. They traced his friends by 7.30 pm and later the one who dropped Suraj on a bike. But Suraj came to know about this and moved to another place.
However, the police managed to get his sister's number by the time and traced Suraj with the help of Cyber Cell analysing the messages sent from this number. Following this, they nabbed Suraj from where he was hiding by 2.30 am.
