Uthra murder: Custody period of accused extended, police to probe who trained Suraj
Kottarakkara (Kollam): The court extended the custody period of Suraj and Suresh, the accused in Uthra murder case, for five more days. Both were produced before the court after the custody period ended the other day. They were again taken under police custody for getting more information regarding the conspiracy and Suraj's expertise in handling snakes.
The police is investigating who trained Suraj to catch snakes and handle them. Though Suraj said that he learnt it from YouTube, the police have not believed him fully. When a snake was found at the house earlier, it was Suraj who caught it. He also caught the viper that bit Uthra in the first incident and threw it out.
According to the statement, he threw the snake on Uthra's body, it is likely that the snake was forcefully made to bite Uthra. Only a person who has expertise to handle snakes can make this happen. So, the police assume that someone might have trained Suraj. They are also investigating to find out if the second accused Suresh trained Suraj.
