Uthra murder case: Suraj made 3 attempts to kill wife; first bid failed
Adoor: Suraj, the prime accused in the Anchal murder case, confessed to police that he had tried to kill his wife Uthra twice before March 2.
On February 29, he made his first attempt. A viper was brought in a sack and kept hidden in the bedroom under the bed. Uthra saw the snake and cried. Suraj soon caught the snake and threw it away in the backyard. Later the snake was hidden in the shed. It was in the third attempt the snake bit Uthra on leg.
The doctor who treated Uthra had raised suspicion over the snakebite. The bite was on the muscle below the knee. Suraj’s family had told doctor that the snakebite occurred outside the house. However, doctor had told Uthra’s family that the Viper snake wouldn’t have bitten on the calf as Viper-like snakes will not bite that high.
Meanwhile, the probe team has been expanded including 12 more police officials.
