Tvm gang rape case: Absconding accused nabbed by police
Thiruvananthapuram: One of the accused in Thiruvananthapuram gang rape case, who went missing, has been nabbed by the police. Noufal Shah (27), driver of the auto rickshaw in which the victim was taken, was nabbed. His arrest will be recorded after the victim identifies the accused.
Meanwhile, all the other accused in the case, who were arrested earlier, have been remanded. Apart from the woman’s husband, Mansoor(41), Akbar Shah (20), Arshad (35), Naufal Shah (27), Ansar (33) and Rajan Sebastian have been remanded.
POCSO case charged
The five-year-old son of the victim has given statement against the accused in the case, including his father. The child said that he witnessed his mother being attacked by the accused and that he was pushed to the ground when he cried. Apart from molestation charges, police have also charged the accused with POCSO charges. Police said that the statement of the child is extremely significant in the case.
The victim’s clothes have been sent for forensic examination. She had marks of the attack on her body and face. The molestation was orchestrated by the victim’s husband. He brought his wife and their two children to the house of Rajan Sebastian under the pretext of going to the beach. Police have also registered theft cases for stealing Rs 1000 and two mobile phones from the victim.
