Trio from outside behind Periya double murder; Vehicle found
Kasaragod: The police have identified the vehicle used by the accused in the Periya double murder case.
Police found the Mahindra Xylo SUV, bearing the number KL 14 J 5683 near Pakkam, here in the district under suspicious circumstances on Tuesday.
Police have received an information that a gang of three persons from outside the district used the vehicle to commit the crime. The officials believe that the trio murdered the two Youth Congress activists Kripesh and Sarath Lal. The attackers using a vehicle bearing Kasaragod registration points to the accused receiving local help.
Meanwhile, the police have reportedly taken seven persons into custody in connection with the case. It is learned that the arrests of some of them might be recorded on Tuesday evening.
Earlier, the police had arrested CPM Periya local committee member Peethambaran. It is learned that Peethambaran planned the murder and arranged goons from outside to murder the two.
