Perumanna (Kozhikode): In a strange incident, a thief stole the jewels of a sleeping one-year-old boy from the cradle and left the baby on the roof top. The incident happened at Mamukkoya’s house at Perumanna on Wednesday around 2.30 am.
The toddler, Muhammed Isan, son of Mamukkoya, was left over a pile of abandoned cloths on the roof top after stealing his ornaments. The parents who woke up hearing the cries of the baby, found him at the roof top. One sovereign anklet, one sovereign waist chain, half sovereign chain and a smart phone worth Rs 15,000 were stolen.
The thief entered the house by forcefully opening the door of the roof. The sign of climbing over the house was seen on the wall the next day morning.
At the time of the incident, Mamukkoya, his wife, aged mother and six-year-old daughter were at the house. An investigation has begun about the incident.
