Thief leaves message: `I took money for an emergency, will return it. I’m not a thief’
Udinoor: Two houses in Udinoor were robbed when the householders were away. The houses of C. K. Muneera near Udinoor Juma Masjid and Parathichalil A. G. Ayisha were robbed. The burglar left a message in Muneera’s house to claim his innocence.
The doors of Muneera’s house were damaged and the shelves in the bedrooms were broken. Two sovereigns of gold, including two rings and a locket and Rs 32,000 were stolen. The family was away to a relative’s house in connection with a funeral ceremony.
The robbery was noticed after they returned in the wee hours of Wednesday. The burglar had written a message on a pillar near the staircase which read, ‘I took money for an emergency, but will return it. I’m not a thief.’
The robbers broke into Ayisha’s house by damaging the grills behind the house and broke open the shelves and tables. The robbery took place when the family went to the hospital. The details of the stolen properties are not yet available.
Chanthera SI Vipin Chandran and Additional SI Rajeevan visited the houses. Fingerprint experts from Kasaragod also arrived to collect evidence.
