Suspected human trafficking from eastern coast of south India
Kochi/Cherai: Following reports of human trafficking from Munambam, it is suspected that human trafficking had taken place from the eastern coasts of south India to Christmas Islands and Australia via Bay of Bengal. Investigation in this regard will be carried out with the help of Tamil Nadu police, said higher officials of police.
In the human trafficking case from Munambam, police hope to get crucial information within two or three days. Munambam police interrogated the middle men of the boat sale, who are natives of Malyankara and Pallippuram.
According to police, Srikanth, chief convict in the Munambam human trafficking, bought the fishing boat named ‘Daya Matha’ with the help of theses middle men. It is suspected that four more persons were involved as middle men in the boat sale.
