Shamna Kasim extortion case: Nobody called us, says Actress Miya George’s mother
Kozhikode: In the controversial Shamna Kasim extortion case, actor Dharmajan Bolgatty on Monday had revealed that the accused in the case had asked the phone numbers of Shamna Kasim and Miya George from him.
Responding to this revelation, acress Miya George’s mother on Tuesday told Mathrubhumi.com that they did not receive any phone calls from the accused. She added that Dharmajan did not even inform them about the incident.
"Nobody called us. Dharmajan also did not mention about such an incident. What will we do if somebody approaches Dharmajan seeking Miya’s phone number? Even the police did not contact us over the matter. Actually, we came to know about it through news on TV last day," said Miya’ s mother.
On Monday, police recorded the statement of Dharmajan over the blackmailing case after recovering his contact number from the phone of the accused.
In his statement, Dharmajan had revealed that the accused contacted him claiming to be gold smugglers. A man who introduced himself as Askhar Ali spoke to him and said they smuggle gold using celebrities and mentioned deals worth crores of rupees. They asked him for the numbers of Shamna Kasim and Miya George and requested to introduce him to the actresses.
Following this, Miya’ s mother revealed that nobody involved in the case had contacted them.
