Shamna Kasim case: 5 more complaints filed against blackmailing gang
Kochi: More complaints have come up against the accused who blackmailed actress Shamna Kasim, said Kochi City Police Commissioner Vijay Sakhare. Five more persons have approached the police with complaints and their statement will be recorded, he informed.
The police arrested the culprits the other day on the basis of the complaint filed by Shamna Kasim's mother that they tried to blackmail and swindle money from them. When the picture of the culprits were released through the media, more people came forward with complaint.
Three women including an actress from Alappuzha and a model from Kadavanthra filed complaint on Thursday. In addition to them, five others have filed complaints now, the Commissioner told the media. He added that apart from robbing money and gold from them, some of the women complained of sexual abuse as well.
Cases have been charged for human trafficking and other sections. However, the gold smuggling attempt is not confirmed yet. The TikTok star from Kasaragod will be summoned in connection with the case, Vijay Sakhare said.
A special investigation team has been appointed on knowing the connections of the gang with movie field. One of the accused named Abdul Salam surrendered in the court in Kochi on Friday.
