Kochi/Palakkad: Police suspect inter-state links on the accused in the case relating to blackmailing and threatening of actress Shamna Kasim. Other fashion models who were trapped by this gang had revealed some information in this regard. They told police that women from Bengaluru had arrived to the hotel where they were accommodated.
The accused had told the models that they had to bring more girls in order to let the girls escape from the hotel. The accused Rafeeq had introduced himself as the owner of RK Financiers. Later the models came to know there was no institution as such.
“Women had come from other places including Bengaluru. The accused had threatened to kill if case was filed,” the models told police.
Meanwhile, police conducted inspections at hotels in Palakkad and Walayar where the women were kept. The Walayar hotel manager was questioned in detail. However, police couldn’t get hold of the CCTV footages as the incident was months old.
The manager told police that the women had availed room saying they came for an interview in Kanjikode. Later three men also came and took three rooms. The women had paid for all rooms. When they ran out of cash, they vacated the rooms.
The hotel employees said they didn’t know the women were kept locked but they were provided food at all times.
