Rs 30 lakh worth gold seized from Kannur airport
Kannur: Thirty lakh worth gold was seized from a passenger at Kannur International Airport on Sunday morning. 612 grams of gold was seized from a Mayyil native Vyshak, who reached the airport by GoAir flight from Sharjah. He smuggled the gold in paste form, hidden as three tablets in his body. Customs registered a case and initiated a probe.
On July 3, Rs 1 crore worth gold was recovered from a garbage of the same airport.
The gold was seized under the Customs Joint Commissioner S Kishore, Superintendents PC Chacko and S Nandakumar, Inspectors Dileep Kaushal, Joy Sebastain, Yadhu Krishna, Manoj Yadhav and Havildar KPA Rajan.
