Ranjith Johnson murder case: 7 get life imprisonment
Kollam: In connection with the murder of Peroor native Ranjith Johnson, seven accused have been awarded life imprisonment by the court. The accused persons abducted and later murdered Ranjith on August 15, 2018. Kollam Additional Sessions Court awarded the punishment.
The court directed that the culprits should not be granted bail or parole for the next 25 years. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 2 lakh on them. Kannanellur native Manoj, Nedungolam native Ranjith, Poothakkulam native Baiju, Vadakkevila native Pranav, Decent junction native Vishnu, Kilikollur native Vineesh and Vadakkevila native Riyaz were found guilty of murder.
Ranjith had been living with Manoj’s wife due to which Manoj decided to take revenge on him. The accused took Ranjith from his house to a deserted area Chathannur Polachira and murdered him. After this, they carried the body in a car and abandoned at Ponnankudi in Samuthapuram on the Nagarcoil-Tirunelveli road.
