Ramsi suicide case: SP KG Simon to take over investigation, DGP issues order
Kollam: SP KG Simon has been appointed to investigate the suicide of Kottiyam native Ramsi. The case was handed over to Crime Branch based on the demand made by the victim's parents. Following this, DGP has released the order appointing KG Simon as the investigating officer.
The investigation was handed over to the State Crime Branch after the parents of the victim and action council stated that they were not happy with the investigation and alleged others including a serial actress were involved in the case apart from the main accused Harish. The case was initially investigated by the District Crime Branch.
The serial actress, Lakshmi Pramod, is Harish’ sister-in-law. She has been missing since the incident. The action council and the parents also demanded that Harish’s mother should also be interrogated for abetment of suicide. Harish’s mother and Lakshmi Pramod have submitted a plea for anticipatory bail.
Ramsi was found dead on September 3 after Harish broke his promise of marriage with her. He walked out of the relationship with Ramsi after he received a marriage proposal from another woman. Harish and Ramsi were in a relationship for several years. Meanwhile, Harish even forced Ramsi to undergo an abortion after she got pregnant. Ramsi committed suicide after Harish rejected her repeated requests to get married.
