Railway Police seize Rs 24 lakh hawala money in Kozhikode
Kozhikode: A Maharashtra native was arrested by Railway Police for carrying Rs 24 lakh hawala money. Danpur native Sayogi (40) was arrested by Railway Police and Railway Protection Force.
Sayogi was nabbed during the inspection conducted on the Parasuram Express that reached Kozhikode railway station on Wednesday at 9.30 am.
Notes of Rs 500 were packed in cloth bags and tied to his body.
According to police, Sayogi is a member of the gang which buy gold from a goldsmith in Perambra, Parasu and sell it at Mangalapuram.
The accused will be produced before court today itself.
