Ekarool: The police officials who are investigating the suspicious death of a Kondotty woman in Kozhikode’s Unnikulam grama panchayat confirmed it to be murder. The autopsy report of 31-year-old Ummakulsu reveals that internal bleeding led to her death. Meanwhile, her husband Thajudheen is on the run and is also the prime suspect in the case. However, SI MK Suresh informed that more details about the crime could be known only after Thajudheen is taken under police custody.
The police have intensified the investigation. On October 9, Balussery police along with forensic and fingerprint experts visited the rented home at Veeriambram for collecting evidence where the incident happened.
It is learnt that Thajudheen used to brutally assault Ummakulsu. The police officials informed that the woman’s muscles were in a deteriorating condition and a chemical compound was poured into her mouth. Based on the statement from the doctor who conducted autopsy, murder was confirmed. Similarly, a look out notice was issued against Thajudheen.
Ummakulsu was staying alone after issues with Thajudheen. However, Thajudheen visited her a month back and took her along with him. A week before the incident, the couple reached the rented house of Sirajudheen, who is Thajudheen’s friend, at Veeriambram. On October 8, when Ummakulsu and Thajudheen returned to the house, she was looking fatigued. Sirajudheen who saw Ummakulsu in bad health condition took her to a private hospital. From there she was taken to Kozhikode Medical College. However, on the way to the medical college, she died. Sirajudheen, who accompanied her, was questioned in police custody of Medical College police. A suspicious case was registered and the person was let off. As the incident happened under Balussery police station, they took over the investigation.
