Kasaragod: In a shocking turnaround of events, Peethambaran, the prime accused in the Periya double murder case has denied involvement in the crime.
When Peethambaran was presented before the Hosdurg magistrate court, the judge asked about his health condition.
When the judge asked if he had anything more to say, Peethambaran denied the charges and said he knew nothing about the double murder.
Peethambaran also said that the investigating officers threatened him into pleading guilty while he was under police custody.
Replying to the judge’s query, Peethambaran said he was not manhandled but clarified that he was threatened by investigating officers.
Peethambaran was presented before the court along with another accused Saji George after their remand period ended. The court remanded both Peethambaran and Saji George for two weeks.
It must be noted that Peethambran’s family, including his mother, wife and daughter had said that he was innocent and had pleaded guilty in the murder case for someone else.
