Passenger attempts to sexually assault woman aboard train
Kozhikode: In a shocking incident, a woman had a narrow escape from sexual assault on a train. The incident took place on Wednesday night in Ernakulam-Kannur executive train. The accused jumped off the train and escaped after the woman pulled the safety chain.
The 43-year-old woman from Kozhikode is working as a home nurse in Ernakulam. According to reports, she was on the way to her home.
It is learned that the accused, travelling in the same compartment was intoxicated. A family who was in the same compartment tried to stop him when the woman screamed for help.
As per the complaint, the accused started to disturb her since she boarded the train from Thrissur.
Eventually, she was forced to pull the safety chain fearing assault after the train left Tirur railway station. The accused is yet to be identified. Kozhikode railway police started the investigation.
