Kollam: Police have confirmed that the mysterious death of an auto driver here in Kulathupuzha was a murder. A woman, who is the main accused in the case, has been taken into custody.
Police took into custody Kulathupuzha native Rashmi (25) in connection with the case.
The victim, Dinesh (25), who is an auto-rickshaw driver, was found dead in the kitchen of Rashmi’s home on Friday afternoon.
Dinesh, who was close to the accused, visited her house the other day in another auto-rickshaw and an altercation took place between the two. As per the case report, Dinesh died after he hit his head on the bed when he was pushed down by Rashmi during the altercation.
Rashmi tried to drag the body out of the house but in vain. Later, she informed the neighbors about the incident.
The preliminary assumption is that the death was caused by an injury to the back of the head.
Meanwhile, more details will be revealed only when forensic and the cyber cell reports come out, stated Kulathuppuzha police Inspector, N Girish Kumar, who leads the investigation.
The victim's body was cremated after a postmortem at Thiruvananthapuram medical college.
