Motive of Kottayam murder was money to meet Assamese girlfriend, reveals accused
Kottayam: The accused who murdered a woman in Thazhathangadi here revealed to the police that he robbed the house for getting money to meet his girlfriend. Accused Muhammed Bilal told the police that he got acquainted with the Assamese girl through social media and that he used to earn money through online games.
As Bilal was not in good terms with his father, he had no other ways to find money to go to Assam. So, he planned the robbery, but it ended up in murder, he said. Bilal admitted that he is addicted to online games and that he had earned money from games.
The police will continue evidence collection on Sunday as the accused was sent in custody for three days. They will visit the lodge in Alappuzha where Bilal stayed.
During the evidence collection held the other day, the police had found from Thanneermukkom the mobile phones, keys, knives and scissors lost from the house of the victim. Bilal had thrown these objects into the backwater while going to Kottayam after the attack.
