MLA Bijimol’s husband booked over cheating charges
Idukki: Peerumedu MLA ES Bijimol’ s husband has been booked over cheating charges.
The police registered the case against PK Reji as per a court order over a complaint which alleged that he did not return Rs 15 lakhs borrowed to meet election expenditures in 2016.
Upputhara native KM John had filed the complaint against the MLA’s husband PK Reji. John and his wife were employees at Reji’s shop in Elappara.
In order to meet the expenditure on the election, Reji directed John to pledge documents of his property for a bank loan from Elappara Grameen Bank. The money was deposited in John’s account.
As per the complaint, Reji forged documents to withdraw money from John’s account. He alleged that though Reji promised him that the money will be returned, he did not keep the promise.
After receiving an eviction notice from the bank, John visited the MLA to complain directly. John alleged that the MLA threatened him over the issue.
Though John filed a complaint to the party leadership and district police chief, nobody took any action. Following this, he approached the court as seeking justice.
