Alappuzha: Police failed to nab the accused in the mass brawl that erupted following a dispute over the construction of a road here. According to Thrikunnapuzha police, all the accused booked in the case are absconding after the incident.
Police registered a case against five people -Arun Raj, Bhavana, Gireesh, Ratheesh and Ramesan based on the statement given by Perumpally native Santha who was injured in the clash.
Some of the natives here filed another complaint against over 10 people alleging they were attacked by them.
According to reports, quarrel over a road construction near the northside of Perumpally Tsunami memorial led to the mass brawl. Six families in the region had approached the revenue department and panchayat seeking poramboke land for the road. A quarrel over this led to the dispute.
A video of the conflict had gone viral on social media.
