Man who snatched chain from court premises nabbed after 18 years
Palakkad: The police have captured a man who stole the chain of a court room worker 18 years ago. The culprit, Kollam native Sreekanth, was nabbed from Chennai by a special squad formed to catch wanted criminals.
The incident happened in 2002. Sreekanth snatched the chain of typist Ajitha Kumari from the premise of Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. He was caught in the act although he tried to escape. But he managed to abscond when let out in bail.
Also, Sreekanth got married thrice in the meantime. Moreover he adopted differnt names for the different places lived in. He was also known as Ajith Kumar, Ajith Joseph during these days on the run.
Sreekanth gave his wife’s address in Koottarakkara to the police the first time he was caught. Later he changed his addresses to Ernakulam and Chennai, where he married the second and the third time.
When the police finally got to him, he was preparing for his fourth wedding. Police claim that he was involved in several financial frauds in Kollam, Ernakulam and Chennai.
