Man takes daily bike ride evading lockdown, wife informs police
Muvattupuzha: In an interesting incident, a man was arrested for evading lockdown restrictions after his wife informed the police. The man used to take bike ride daily by evading the lockdown restrictions. To trick the police, he always carried a packet of paracetamol in his pocket.
He has been taking the ride for more than 15 days through the paths where police inspections are rare. But on Wednesday, he got trapped before the police.
When police asked him about the purpose of his journey, he showed the strip of paracetamol to them
“I went to buy medicine,” he told the police.
After seeing the condition of the strip of tablets which was inside his pocket for more than 10 days, police confirmed that he was trying to fool the police.
The man’s wife was forced to contact the police worried about his safety amid the pandemic outbreak.
While leaving home every afternoon, the man told his wife that he is going to meet his aged parents. But he used to return home in the night after roaming here and there on his bike.
Observing this, his wife understood that he was lying to her. She was also worried that his regular bike rides will result in coronavirus infection to the whole family.
As he was not ready to give ears to her repeated advice on the need to stay home, she contacted police. She also gave the details of her husband including his name and vehicle number.
The route through which he used to travel and his dress was also informed to the police.
At first, police were not much interested in this complaint. But as the man’s wife continued to call them, they decided to observe the person. Finally, they nabbed him and seized his vehicle.
A case was registered against the man for evading the lockdown. Later, he was released on station bail. Police also advised him that he must stay at home for the welfare of his own family.
