Man stabbed to death at Aluva govt hospital
Aluva: A man was stabbed to death and two others were severely injured during a clash between members of drug mafia at the district government hospital here on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Chippi (34) a resident of V.H Colony near Aluva U.C College. The two injured, Krishnaprasad and Vishal, both natives of Aluva, are undergoing treatment at Kalamassery Medical College.
The injured gave a statement that Aluva Choondi native Manikandan stabbed them. The trio were admitted to the de-addiction centre at the hospital. Manikandan’s wife was admitted to the hospital for childbirth.
The incident took place around 8 am. Manikandan had come to the hospital to see his wife. There he met the trio and an argument broke out between them. At one point, an infuriated Manikandan took out a knife and stabbed all three.
Chippi, who was stabbed in the abdomen, ran for over 10 metres in an effort to save himself. He collapsed near the office building of the hospital. The staff and other people took Chippi inside. All three were administered first aid. As their injuries were severe, all three were taken to the Kalamassery medical college. Chippi died on the way to the hospital.
The police said that both Chippi and Manikandan were involved in several drug smuggling cases.
