Man shot dead by neighbour in Kannur
Kannur: A 50-year-old man was shot dead by his neighbour at Cherupuzha here on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Kongalayil Baby, a native of Kanamvayal. The incident took place around 8 am on Thursday.
The residents reported that Baby was shot dead by his neighbour Vadathuruthel Tomy. Police initiated a probe to nab the man who is absconding after committing the murder.
A team of police led by Cherupuzha CI K Unnikrishnan reached the spot and completed the formalities.
Baby’s body was taken to a private hospital in Cherupuzha and later shifted to Pariyaram medical college for post-mortem.
It is assumed that a dispute between the neighbours ended up in the murder.
All guns with license were surrendered in the police stations following the announcement of the polls. Amidst this, a man was shot dead here. Hence, the police have been investigating about the license of this gun that was used for the crime.
The murder took place in the village close to the Karnataka reserve forest near the Kerala-Karnataka border.
