Kannur: Kannur Town police nabbed a man who cheated owners of electronic shops and jewellery shops by giving forged bank cheques after buying things. The fraudster has been identified as P C Sajesh, native of iritty.
A complaint was filed against Sajesh stating he cheated Rs 2.18 lakhs from Malabar Gold after buying ornaments. He has cheated owners of electronic shops and two other jewelleries of the city in a similar way. His method of cheating is to buy things and hand over forged cheques and identity card instead of money.
In one jewellery shop, he bought ornaments and said it was to be gifted to a poor girl who was getting married.
As one of the cheque given to an owner of an electronic shop bounced, he filed a complaint with the Kannur Town police. The culprit was nabbed in further investigation.
From four shops, Sajesh defrauded nearly Rs 5 lakhs. Sajesh was working abroad and came to Kerala recently.
