Koodathayi murder: Bail pleas of Jolly, MS Mathew rejected
Kozhikode: Kozhikode District Sessions Court rejected the bail petitions of Jolly, the prime accused in Koodathayi murder series and her accomplice, MS Mathew.
The court gave its verdict on Tuesday against the bail plea submitted by Jolly, in Roy Thomas Murder case, and MS Mathew, in four cases of the Kodathayi murder series.
Advocate BA Aloor, who appeared for Jolly said that the she was named as accused in the case without enough evidence. He also requested the court to grant her bail since charge sheet has been submitted in all the cases.
Shaheer Singh, who appeared for MS Mathew, argued that Mathew had no reason to murder any of the victims and that no evidence has been produced by the investigation team to establish that he tried to murder anyone. However, the court dismissed this argument.
Special Prosecutor, NK Unnikrishnan, told the court that the accused can influence the witnesses and destroy the evidences. Moreover there is a possibility that Jolly might commit suicide. Considering this, Judge AR Anitha rejected the bail pleas.
