Koodathai serial killing: Trial in Sili murder case to begin on Monday
Kozhikode: The trial of Sili murder case, which is part of the infamous Koodathai serial killings, will commence on Monday. According to the case, the key accused Jolly murdered Sili, the first wife of Shaju whom Jolly later remarried. The trial will take place at Kozhikode Sessions Court.
Sili was murdered on January 11, 2016. As per the case, Jolly filled cyanide in a mushroom capsule and gave it to Sili at the dental hospital in Thamarassery. When Sili felt uneasiness, Jolly also gave her water mixed with cyanide. There are witnesses who watched this and evidence for attempt to murder using cyanide.
Key accused Jolly's husband Roy Thomas, Roy's parents Annamma and Thomas, relative Mathew Manchadiyil, Shaju's daughter Alphine and his first wife Sili were murdered in Koodathai in a gap of many years. The serial murders were planned in order to get hold of the wealth of Ponnamattom family and to live with Shaju.
M S Mathew who supplied cyanide to Jolly and K Prajikumar also are accused in the case. The mystery behind the case came to light after the brother of Roy Thomas filed a complaint with the police.
