Kodakara hawala heist: Charge sheet details transactions involved
Thrissur: After the investigating team confirmed that the Bharatheeya Janatha Party (BJP) pumped in hawala money for local body and assembly elections in Kerala, the charge sheet submitted in the robbery case associated with it details the transactions involved.
The individuals involved in the crime used ‘token’ to collect money from Karnataka. Ten rupee currency note was reportedly used as token. The charge sheet says the BJP State Committee Secretary was informing Dharmajan about the individuals to whom money should be handed over.
BJP, through Dharmajan, has brought around Rs 12 cr to Kerala, just for the local body elections, mentions the report. The money was brought thrice in sacks. The charge sheet states Rs 6.3 cr was brought to Thrissur BJP office on the same day when the robbery occurred in Kodakara.
Meanwhile, Kerala BJP Chief K Surendran has alleged that the charge sheet submitted look like CPM’s political resolution and not a legal document.
