Kevin murder case: Witness identifies 7 accused
Kottayam: The trial of Kevin murder case has begun at Kottayam sessions court. Key witness Anish’s trial was held on Wednesday and he identified seven accused including Shanu Chacko, a key suspect in the case. However, Anish couldn’t identify fifth accused Chacko and three others.
All accused appeared in the court for the trial wearing similar white attire and shortened hair. Earlier, the court had agreed to hold a trial soon under provisions of honour killing. Anish stated in the court that he couldn’t identify everyone since the accused changed their appearances.
Kottayam Nattassery native Kevin (24) was found murdered on May 27, 2018, after he was abducted by his wife Neenu’s relatives on the very next day of their marriage. The accused abducted Kevin and Anish after breaking into Anish’s house. First the two were brought to Thenmala in Kollam and Anish was brought back to Kottayam. However, Kevin’s body was found in Chaliyakkara river near Punalur the following day.
Neenu’s father Chacko, brother Shanu Chacko and friends were booked in the murder case.
