History-sheeter masquerading as fisherman for 6 months nabbed from Kasaragod
Cheruvathur: Cops arrested PP Rakesh (34), a history-sheeter, who was on the run and living secretly as fisherman for six months, from Ori in Kasaragod. The person was nabbed by beat officers Sureshan Kanam and PP Sudhesh of Chanthera Police with the help of residents of the area.
Several cases were booked against Rakesh by the Valapattanam and Edakkad police. Six months back he reached Valiyaparamba from Mahe and was staying in Padanna and Valiyaparamba area. He worked as a driver in a fishing boat. Amid this, Valapattanam police once conducted a search in the regions. But they were unsuccessful in locating him. He started living in a hut near Ori river four days back. A canoe was behind the hut and he used that for commuting. The locals in the region got suspicious about his conduct and informed police.
Chanthera police intervened and nabbed the person. They handed him over to the Valapattanam police.
