Malappuram: The gold worth Rs. 35 lakh that was smuggled via Karipur airport was robbed by men who came in masks. The incident happened on Saturday morning at Kondotty. The 900 gram of gold was stolen by six masked men who came in an Innova car.
Kozhikode native Falasu reached the airport at 3.20 am with the smuggled gold. He immediately handed over the gold to Perinthalmanna natives Faisal and Mohammad.
They left the airport in a car with the gold. However, upon reaching Kondotty Musliyarangadi, they were attacked by a group of masked men who came in an Innova car. They smashed the windows of the vehicle and forced the passengers to come out of the car. They then drove the car away.
