Kozhikode: The investigating officer of Goa police said that no person has been arrested in connection with the mysterious death of a Keralite girl and that the death was a suicide.
Anjana K Hareesh (21) was found hanging from a tree in a Goa resort on Thursday. Police told Mathrubhumi.com that the preliminary investigation suggests that it was a suicide and that more details cannot be revealed at the moment.
Anjana was the daughter of Kanhangadu native Hareesh and Mini. She was a student of Thalassery Brennan College. Four months back, her mother, Mini, filed a complaint with the Hosdurg police claiming that her daughter was missing. Following this, police found Anjana and sent her with her family. She was then sent to Palakkad and Coimbatore drugs rehabilitation treatment.
Anjana did not come back home after she left home in the first week of March, saying that she wanted to attend a reunion program in college. Following this, her mother again approached the police with a complaint.
However, after she was arrested by police, Anjan told Judicial First Class Magistrate Court that she was not interested to go back with her mother. Following this, the court permitted her go with a Kozhikode native called Gargi.
