Kollam: The death of Uthra, a married woman who died of snakebite at Anchal here in the district, was murder. Uthra’s husband Sooraj has confessed to have murdered her by making a poisonous snake bite her.
The police are likely to arrest Sooraj soon. It is learned that financial gain was the motive behind the murder.
The 25-year-old woman was first bitten by a viper while at Sooraj’s house at night on March 2. After treatment, she came back to her house in Anchal. She was bitten by a cobra and was found dead on May 7.
Uthra’s parents and relatives had raised suspicion over her death the same day itself. Uthra went to bed in a closed room which was equipped with AC and the windows were closed. How did the snake crawl into the room was everybody’s suspicion.
