Kottayam: Police found a couple, who were missing from Pallickathode in Kottayam for the last 7 years, from Alappuzha.
Kanjiramattom native Tom Thomas (36) and his wife Reeja Thomas (32) were found in a homestay in Alappuzha. The police produced them before the court and let them off. According to police, the couple left their native place due to financial liabilities.
Recently, the Home department issued a circular seeking to trace the missing couple. Following this, a person informed the police that the couple was in Alappuzha. As police had registered a missing case, the couple was arrested and produced before the court.
The couple was running a hotel at bypass road in Pallickathode. After leaving the place, they spent 15 days at a retreat centre in Chalakudy. Later, they moved to Alappuzha and took over a homestay owned by an acquaintance. Apart from running the homestay, which included 25 rooms and huts for lease, the couple was also running a hotel in Alappuzha.
Police informed that only a missing complaint was registered against the couple.
