Thiruvananthapuram: The complaint of a woman sexually abusing her own son at Kadakkavoor here was fake, alleged the family of the accused.
The woman’s family alleged that her husband filed the complaint in retaliation to the woman opposing him marrying another woman without divorcing his first wife. They also alleged that the man had enmity towards them after the woman approached the court seeking alimony.
The family alleged that the man used to beat up the woman besides physically and psychologically torturing her over dowry. “He used to beat up my daughter when she was pregnant. The ordeal continued even after her delivery. The complaint against my daughter is fake,” the woman’s mother said.
The younger son of the couple also stated that his father used to beat him up. The boy said that his father used to beat him up and not provide him food.
The police had arrested the woman two weeks ago based on a complaint that she sexually abused her son. The boy’s father informed Childline regarding the abuse and the boy gave statements against his mother to the Childline and police. She was remanded later.
The couple entered wedlock after an affair. Following abuse, the woman had been living separately for the last three years. The 37-year-old woman has three sons aged 17, 14 and 11 and a 6-year-old daughter.
The youngest son is living with the woman and the boy said his father used to attack him and his mother. After his wife left him, the man married another woman and took three of the children with him. The woman was arrested based on the statement of one of the three children.
