College teacher accuses police of inaction on her rape complaint
Malappuram: The police are yet to capture the accused in connection with the rape and circulation of private videos of a college teacher in Kuttippuram. The accused is said to have raped the victim on promise of marriage. The victim has now accused the police of not taking any action against the accused. The accused Mohammed Hafiz has fled the country.
Mohammed Hafiz, who was a teacher at a college in Ponnani, was in a relationship with the victim for four years. During this period, she was raped and forced to convert to a different religion. He ended the relationship midway and fled the country and started circulating the private pictures and videos of the woman along with her address and phone number on social media. Despite the victim's complaint, the police failed to act against the accused. Moreover, the police repeatedly summoned her to the station in the name of various procedures.
The accused is reported to have gone to Ajman after ending the relationship. There he joined a textile manufacturing company as an administrative officer. A complaint exists against him for recording a video of a housewife in the bathroom. However, no action was taken by the police over this.
The woman has filed a complaint with the district police head over the complacency of Kuttippuram police. The district police head has intervened in the case after she gave public statements against Kuttippuram police. He has informed that a look-out notice will be issued against the accused.
