Perumbavoor native Shiyas Kunjumuhammed had filed a complaint that Sunny Leone received Rs 39 lakh from him and did not attend a show organised by him as per the contract. However, the Crime Branch found out that they had not signed any contract in this regard and the actress offered to attend the event only by word.
It also came to light that the complainant had not handed over any money to Sunny Leone directly, but some other people deposited it in her account. None of those persons have raised complaint about cheating. The Crime Branch SP made it clear that they will also investigate why the event was cancelled.
Meanwhile, the probe team is also probing if the cheating case against Sunny Leone is valid. They have recorded the statement of both parties in detail.
The high court had the other day stayed arresting Sunny Leone, her husband and manager in connection with case considering her anticipatory bail plea. The court also said that she can be questioned after serving a notice in advance.
Sunny Leone had reacted to the controversy that the complaint of Shiyas was baseless. She had told him already that her fee is Rs 30 lakh and that she would attend the event only if the amount is paid fully in advance. The dates and venue were changed several times and the event was finally scheduled in Kochi on February 14, 2019.
Though Sunny Leone reached the place on the day, the complainant asked her to attend the event without paying the full amount and she did not accept it. This is only a civil case and no charges of cheating exists in it. Anticipatory bail plea is filed considering the political influence of the complainant, the actress had stated in her petition.
