Beauty parlour shooting case: Anti-terrorism squad to bring accused Ravi Pujari to Kerala
Kochi: The anti-terrorism squad has intensified its efforts to bring underworld gangster Ravi Pujari to Kerala for detailed interrogation, in connection with the beauty parlour shooting case. ATS will approach the Karnataka court for the same.
The incident pertaining to the incident happened on December 15, 2018 when two unidentified men came on motorcycles and opened fire outside the parlour owned by the actress Leena Mariya Paul at Panampilly Nagar here.
The case was first probed by local police and then Crime Branch. The Crime Branch had arrested three people soon after the incident. The investigation had revealed that the gang had committed the act to threaten the actress to pay Rs 25 crore demanded by Ravi Pujari.
Pujari had allegedly called her multiple times seeking the amount before and after the incident.
At present the gangster is housed at the Parappana Agrahara central jail in Karnataka. ATS is trying to take him to Kerala with permission from Karnataka court.
It is also suspected that Pujari is involved in similar incidents in some places in the state including Kasaragod.
ATS officials will travel to Bengaluru to completer the procedures for getting custody of Pujari.
The incident occurred when Pujari was in Senegal. While Senegal was trying to deport him, he moved to South Africa from where he was arrested and brought to India.
