Assam police rescues nine girls trafficked to Kerala; two arrested
Guwahati: Assam police rescued nine girls trafficked to Kerala. Director General of Police (DGP) G.P Singh informed that two Assam individuals from the human trafficking racket were arrested in the case on Saturday.
The police received information that many girls from various districts of Assam were trafficked to Thampanoor in Thiruvananthapuram district. The intervention is based on a case registered in Lanka police station of Assam’s Hojai district, said the DGP.
A 8-member team reached Kerala and rescued the girls. According to police, the girls were from Hojai, Nagaon, Sonitpur, Morigaon and Kamrup districts of Assam.
