Aditya Rao got bomb materials online and assembled it watching YouTube
Bengaluru: Uduppi native Aditya Rao (36) who surrendered to the police in connection with planting an explosive device at the Mangaluru International Airport is being interrogated by the police. Aditya who reached Mangaluru from Bengaluru will be taken for evidence collection on Thursday. He will be taken to the place where he is employed and also his place of residence for evidence collection.
Though Aditya submitted to have placed the bomb at the airport, police are trying to get further information. He told police that he had ordered the material for making bombs online and assembled it at home. He also told police that he had assembled the bomb at his home and learnt the techniques by seeing YouTube.
Aditya’s family members said he is mentally disturbed but police are in a tight spot to know how an insane man can order something online and assemble it too. Moreover, police are trying to find how he could reach the ticket counter of a high security place with the bomb. During the initial phase, police have reported that a high intensity bomb was detected on the airport premises.
Aditya Rao who reached Karnataka Police chief’s office and surrendered was later handed over to the Mangaluru police. He will be interrogated in detail and will be produced in front of the Mangaluru court on Thursday evening for police custody. A 3-member police team is probing the incident.
