Adimali murder case: Binoy murdered Sindhu over her affair with separated husband
Adimali (Idukki): In a new development over the murder of a woman named Sindhu in Panickankudi in Idukki, the suspect Binoy, who was on the run, has been arrested three weeks after the incident.
In the incident Binoy has reportedly admitted that he set the woman ablaze using kerosene. However, she was alive when Binoy tried to bury her. He then brutally thrashed her and buried her in the kitchen of his house. In the statement given to police, Binoy said he had doubted her legs were moving while burying. As part of evidence collection, Binoy has been brought to his house where the murder took place.
Sindhu and her younger son were staying in rented house near the house of Binoy after separated from her husband. Reportedly, Sindhu and Binoy were in a relationship and used to stay in the latter’s home. Conflict between them emerged when Sindhu started visiting her husband, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. In the statement given to the police, Binoy said that he was annoyed over Sindhu’s attachment with her husband and it finally led to the murder. The crime happened on August 12 when Sindhu’s son was not in the house as he went to meet Binoy’s relative.
After committing the murder, Binoy removed her clothes and ornaments. She was murdered in the wee hours and buried by morning. He tried to cover up the crime by destroying evidences. Binoy sprinkled chilli powder to distract the probable sniffing by the police dog. When Sindhu’s son arrived back and enquired about her, Binoy said she has gone outside.
However, Sindhu’s mother and son had some suspicion on Binoy over the incident. Later they registered a case and Binoy was asked to appear before the police on August 16. Binoy fled home fearing arrest. The murder came to light on September three when police recovered the body from Binoy’s house.
